Sean Finn is an American entrepreneur and founder of the Houston-based real estate investment and development firm, Finn & Company. Over the span of his career, Finn has spearheaded business ventures in the fields of energy, entertainment, real-estate development, and health care. Finn initially entered the business world by way of the pharmaceutical industry but shortly thereafter set his sights on real estate, prompting him in 2009 to found Finn & Company. In the entertainment industry, Finn has also aligned himself with a number of production companies, including Cross Creek Pictures when he became an equity partner in such films as Black Swan (Natalie Portman), Hacksaw Ridge (Mel Gibson), and Black Mass (Johnny Depp). Finn recently attended the famed Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera. We caught up to the jet-setting businessman to pick his brain on the highlights of the trip.

Did you screen any films at Cannes?

Yes. Sean Penn’s “Black Flies.” It’s a powerful film.

How about celebrities. Coolest actor?

Leonardo DiCarprio.

Actress?

Katherine Waterston, who was in “Black Flies.”

Director?

Martin Scorsese.

Business person?

Jeff Bezos. I met him at dinner. Very cool guy.

Anyone else?

Model Cindy Bruna. She was super fun.

Favorite hotel?

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Fav hotel at Cannes film festival.

Favorite food while there?

Italian, hands down.

Restaurant?

At Mama Michelangelo.

Favorite drink?

Caffe latte.

Any notable dinner guests?

Jordan Belford and Brett Ratner.

Best events during the week?

The weekend parties on the Vava ll yacht.

Best activity?

Swimming in the beautiful water.

Other notable events you attended while in France?

I attended the F1. And the French Open. Both were amazing. 

Any potential business projects as a result of the trip?

Yes. I may be an investor for an upcoming project. My friend is working on a movie about the Pink Panther diamond heist of Kim Kardashian.
