Meet Sean Finn, the Business Ace Taking on the Film Industry & More

Sean Finn is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and led businesses in a variety of industries, including energy, entertainment, real estate, and health care. His ventures detail hundreds of millions of reasons why his business acumen is so well respected. In the entertainment industry, Finn has been an equity partner in a number of films, including Black Swan (Natalie Portman), Hacksaw Ridge (Mel Gibson), and Black Mass (Johnny Depp), to name a few.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Finn would go on to become a professional hockey player during his college years, however, a career-ending injury sent him reeling and rethinking his life ahead. After regrouping, Finn completed his undergraduate studies at Wilfred Laurier College University before matriculating to law school, shortly thereafter, he had a brief stint in the pharmaceutical industry before he found his true calling in real estate. The Houston-based entrepreneur founded the real estate investment and development firm, Finn & Company in 2009, quickly rising to the top of the game in one of Houston’s biggest and most competitive industries.

In 2016, Finn made a landmark real estate deal when he purchased 500,000 square feet of office space from Exxon. The deal was so significant that it was awarded “Deal of the Year” by the Houston Business Journal. Finn then teamed up with Fidelis Realty Partners to develop the space into a thriving supercenter in the greater 610/290 area of Houston.

An avid film enthusiast and investor, Finn was recently spotted at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals, attending the red carpet and screening of Black Flies, a dramatic exploration of the lives of paramedics under extreme duress. Here, his networking prowess came into play once again during a serendipitous meeting over dinner with Jeff Bezos, the visionary founder of Amazon, whom he referred to as “an incredibly impressive individual.”
